GOODBYE WPPI 2011

Photographers Ignite.
This was one of my favorite events last year & this year even better!
17 photographers give a 5 minute presentation, each photographer
speaking on something different or person to them in the business.
I wish I had the video to share with you because it was spectacular!
Okay, maybe I am a photo-addict but I loved it.
Since the convention did have to come to and end this was a great way
to end. I love my job…this convention makes me fall in love with it
all over again!
Thank you to everyone who made this experience worth my while!
I am so grateful for WPPI for putting on this event each year.
I have already marked my calendar for 2012!

WPPI 3

As a faithful user of canon cameras, as you should be as well, even the point and shoot cameras last forever! We went to a Canon sponsored Mardi Gras Party.
Not everyone knows this but I don’t drink, I am not a big fan of the liquor anyway, but I am allergic to it as well. I just went for the fun, of course I try to only to be apart of fun experiences.
Kriea, Jenni & I rocked our masks.

My Classes & Activities for Day 3:
Jules & Bianchi & Joy Bianchi Brown – How to be a Rockstar in your own backyard!
Woman of Contemporary Photography

& the last class I took was Jennifer Hudson (no not the singer)
her class was filled with so many of the best quotes I have ever
heard. I love quotes, I have a word document full of every quote
I have ever heard.
”If the sky falls, hold up your hands”

A lot of great plans for 2011! Get ready!

WPPI DAY 2

My day started with Doug Gordon, My Bride Would Never Do That – Posing is Back.

{photo by my friend Jenni}
I could not wait for my next class the one the only Becker, The [b]ig Picture! Right before I left for Vegas I actually joined The B School . A few of my fellow photographer friends had told me about this website & I joined and I am so glad I did. It is facebook, except even better, you heard me, for photographers! I am so glad to be able to be apart, I highly recommend it to all photographers!
If Becker lived in Oklahoma, we would be best friends.
One of my favorite quotes from this class that he gave was, ”A positive attitude may not solve all your problems but it might annoy enough people to make it worth your while.”
Jim Garner was my next class, The Creative Explosion.
He has designed this amazing lens bag, which I really wanted to get while I was in Vegas but the day I went to get it, they had already actually left. It is called the Boda V3 lens bag.
Best invention ever for a photographer on the go!

Then, my last class of the day, Jasmine Star.
Untold Stories.
I am so thankful for this wonderful lady! Last year I went to WPPI because I really wanted a pick-me-up.
I had a down year, the year before & I needed some motivation. When I left her class last year I was ready
to go home and get started! Seriously, she just needed to throw a little scripture into her talk and I would
have been at church!
This year was the same, so motivating so inspiring! This year she actually helped me realize I have to create more of a schedule for myself. To quote her, ‘Don’t regret living your life in the name of your business.’
Jasmines class was actually healed in a large room and the wonderful person that she is stayed until the very end to talk to every single person that wanted to stay and talk to her. I actually healed back for awhile because I was hoping to get to talk to her for just a little bit. My friend Jenni stood back and captured these pictures.

Ask for what you want.
Have a great day!

WPPI

I have been back from Vegas a little over a week now. This is my second year to be able to attend this convention! It is one of my favorite weeks of the year! It is one of the best experiences I have ever had being in such a positive environment of the best photographers in the country.
I was able to get a direct flight to Vegas this year, (much better than spending all day in Denver airport like last year, Abi!).
The first night we decided would be a good time to walk the strip & take a few pictures, because even though it is the best experience to be at this convention, by the last day, you would rather not be walking down the strip.
A few pictures of our walk…

I love Bellagio !

Oh yes, I forgot to tell you, MJ is alive! Dancing for tips in Vegas!

You no the batman signal? Well, soon there will be a Jared Wanzer Photography signal, just sayin.
Thanks to my friend Kriea for taking this picture.

Until Next time!

THANK YOU

Thank You:
Every day, I am so thankful that I have the job of my dreams,
that I go to work and hang out and have fun with people, and
I just happen to have a camera to photograph all of that fun. So many people have been a part of this process of helping me
take my hobby to the next level and creating this new website.
First, I would like to thank my MA, my very first model.  I think you
knew I could do this before I knew myself.  Thank you for always being my encourager.  You are the best person I know and I am so glad that I have always had you in my life. Thank you, MA, for always being there, for letting me talk out some of my ideas and my up and down moments that I have had along the way.
My brother and best friend, Sean: Thank you for always motivating me and telling me I can do anything I want (except to jump off of a waterfall).  You are the best brother anyone could ask for and I appreciate you.
Dad: Thank you for buying my first professional camera and sponsoring a lot of my photography adventures.
Abi, my teacher and my friend: Thank you for pushing me to that next level and for all of the advice and encouragement you gave me in school and even now.  Also, for making time to take my updated profile pictures! I know you are very busy and I appreciate it so much!
To all of my friends: Thank you for letting me use you as my models and be the paparazzo in your lives.
To my Mammaw: Even though you are no longer here, I know that the reason I have found what I love to do in my life is a direct result of you being on your knees and praying for me every day.
Kyle Roe, the best graphic designer a photographer could ask for, I am so glad you asked me to photograph your wedding a fee years back! Thank you for all the creativity and hard work you have done for me!
Chris Clark, the videographer everyone needs! Thank you thank you thank you for giving me your card and coming up to talk to me at the wedding we did together because without your amazing work with the videos you created was even more than I could have asked for!
Jasmine Star, I only met you once but your class that I had the privilege of taking in Vegas motivated me to use Showit for my new website. After your class was over, I was ready to go home and get started. Thank you for speaking from your heart it was like going to church for photographers!
To my Aunt Allison, thank you for letting me use your house for a studio several times & helping me with so many projects through the process.
Karlyn, thank you for helping me get all the legal stuff together that comes with having my own business. You made the process so much easier!
Rhonda, thank you for proofing all my information and making it sound even better! I appreciate your help!
Don Thompson, who did an amazing job through ShowIt & MYNTD getting this website together to be exactly what  I wanted it to be.
Thank you for working so hard to get this going before the bridal fair!
Thank you, New York City and Las Vegas, for inspiring me, for making me dream bigger and allowing me to realize that I CAN accomplish all of my dreams.
To each of my clients: I love each one of you. Thank you for asking me to be a part of your lives and for trusting me to be a part of one of the most special days of your lives. Thank you for always coming back to me as your families grow.
It has been a long journey getting to this point, almost a year, can’t wait to see what the next year will bring!
