Les, Ashley & Everett

I haven't been able to take a lot of maternity portraits but it was good to start out doing these wonderful clients of mine Les & Ashley. I started photographing weddings in 2004 so a lot of my clients are now starting to have kids. It is such an honor to 'grow up' in a since with a lot of my clients as their families grow. I love hanging out with Les & Ashley and getting to be 'their photographer' as they put it. Recently they had their little boy, Everett. He is as cute as a button little boy. I am so grateful to have met Les & Ashley and can't wait for all the future pictures we have to take of their lives.

Here are a few of their maternity session we did...

& 4 days after Everett was born I went over to their house to welcome Everett into the modeling world of Jared Wanzer Photography, he is already a pro.

Looking forward to many more pictures to come, what a great job I have getting to be apart of so many great peoples lives.

Texas Weekend

This last weekend I went down to visit my friends, Mandrae, Karissa & Anissa in Forth Worth, TX.
Anissa had her baby dedication at church and I hadn't been able to meet Anissa
yet and so I decided this would be a good weekend for me to go down and visit my friends.
I have been friends with Karissa for about 8 years now. I met her through her sister, Katrina, who is also one of my best friends. Karissa has an amazing voice and a great heart & she is one great moma. We sang in my home church once together & then we also sang at my mom's wedding together as well. We worked harvest together for two summers. We have had lots of laughs & I am so glad to call Mandrae, Karissa and Anissa my friends & get to be apart of their family.
Karissa's parents, Clare & Rhonda, also came down and they were watching my friends Zak & Katrina's little girl, Parker. It was so great to see Parker as well. She is hilarious.
It was such a nice relaxing weekend just hanging out and spending time with friends. I love getting to be apart of my friends lives. They make me feel apart of their family and I LOVE getting to hang out with their kiddos. Of course since this was the first time I had met Anissa, a lot of pictures were taken....Well, who am I kidding I take tons of pictures no matter what. It was a great weekend full of fun, laughs & some new memories. Zak & Katrina you were missed.
Love you guys. Thanks for being such great friends & always making me feel apart.

This blog is a few weeks late, one of my favorite days of course, my birthday!
July 21, I am now officially 24.
24 Random things about me:

1. I love gummy worms.

2. I love traveling, I wish I could go on a photography road trip around the USA.

3. My walls are covered in pictures.
4. I can eat a stick of saltine cracker without even thinking.
5. I save quotes. Anytime someone says something, TV quote, I write it down.

6. I shook Kelly Ripas hand when I was in NYC. She is even more beautiful in person!

7. I love TV. If I start watching a show I watch allll 11 Seasons.
8. I want a Pepsi right now & it is 8:42AM!
9. I don't believe anyone has time, I believe you make time.
10. I love the DVR and the I-Phone...how did we live without them?

11. I have never picked up a hitch hiker.
12. When I hear a song I love I listen to it over and over again.

July came in went for sure!
My month was very busy. I started it off with one of my amazing brides, Suzanne, her bridal portraits. She did such an amazing job, she worked that camera and we found some very unique locations that I had never been to before. I love new locations. These portraits were so cool for me because everything just popped, the colors, here eyes, her dress, everything was just perfect.

Also this month of course I did the promo video shoot.
I am in the process of redoing my website & revamping my buisness. One of the first things was this video.
It was a great weekend, so many of my amazing past brides & grooms were able to make time to come & I found the amazing Chris Clark to do the video, which he did more than I could even ask for, I am so excited to see the final result.

Another project I am starting is, a new blog. I want my new blog to be more current and have recent pictures of my family and friends & so the latest project will be to do just that, have all my family and friends do some photo-shoots with me. I started with processes when my friend Dacia came up to visit me one day, so one photo-shoot down, and many more to come, get ready :)

Another amazing photo-shoot I did this month was my friend April & her little girl Taylor. April & I went to high school together and she was one of my models back in the day in high school, she also got me started in the wedding photography.
I love photographing them because they are just two amazing girls and fun to work with, also seeing my friends and clients kids grown up and get to take pictures of them through the years is also one of my favorite things to do.

As I talked about earlier with Suzannes Bridal Portraits, I also photographed Ty & Suzannes Wedding this month as well. They are two of my favorite people, I love working with them. This may sound odd but sometimes my post favorite people to photograph are people that don't necessary always love having the picture taken or always have a camera in their pocket because making it fun for them is exciting because I get to take the day even more special for them by making something they don't necessarily normally love to do.
I started off the day in Blanchard, OK. The groom, groomsmen and a few of the guys in the family all golfed in the morning until about noon. I followed around in a golf cart and just took pictures of them enjoying the morning.
I then headed to Guthrie where the ladies were getting ready. It was a little warm because the air-conditioners went out at the location but it still was a perfect day. I love working with their families and friends. I appreciate them always spreading my name and coming back to me. They are a pleasure to work with. Congrats Ty & Suzanne, you are a fantastic couple!

July always brings around my birthday, July 21st. I love birthdays. I do love my birthday but I love celebrating anyone birthday sending birthday cards. I also LOVE receiving birthday cards, it is the only month other than Christmas that you really get something in the mail besides bills. I had so many friends and family call me and my mom took me to lunch. MA, Mike, & Sean all took me out to eat at Chilis. It was a great 24th birthday.

I spent the end of the month in Missouri, my dad had a co-op meeting and asked if I wanted to go. It was a Tantara Resort. It was a nice time to just get away and relax. I love traveling to begin with but I also just enjoyed getting away and not working and having some time to think about all the projects that are on my list of things to do. I also ate a lot food while I was there, love me some food!

Another photo-shoot I was able to this month is Kyle & Erin, I went to the area I grew up and Erin had mapped out some cool locations close to where she lived & we also explored some other locations as well. It was for sure one hot day but we had a great time!

Well, that is my month in review & a good month it was. Can't believe how fast this summer is going!

My Mammaws Church

My Great Grandma, Mammaw, Cora Bell Waggoner would have been 90 this last January. She was the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life, probably anyone that knew her would tell you that. Most people do not get to have their great grandparents in your life. My Mammaw was a big part of my life, she passed away when I was 17.
I have so many memories about her, we always went over to her house on Christmas & anytime I was down where she lived I had lunch with her on Monday. She always made you feel special and was always so glad to see me.
Another great thing about her was she was a Pastor of a church for a very long time, I am not sure on dates but for a big part of her life. I always loved going to her church, if I was down visiting it was always on my list to go on Sunday. She loved the Lord so much and you could always count on her to be on her knees praying for you, now I am not talking about 'Lord bless my family' she took the time and she called out everyone's name. She was just an amazing woman, it will definitely never be the same without her here, but I am so thankful she was apart of so many years of my life.
Since I started doing photography for my profession I have wanted to take pictures of the church. If you don't know me I am extremely sentimental to begin with, I think that is one of the many reasons I love pictures because I love the way a picture can take you back to that moment in time. I never saw this church with the pews full but it was always a place that was such a happy place to be. A lot of my blood built this church, the pews, the cross, my mom grew up in this church. It just has so much meaning, not only because it is a place of worship but because of all the hands that built it. It does make me sad that the doors are now closed and the the organ she played each Sunday is no longer being played but the memories are always there.

About a month ago, my Great Aunt Sonya, my Mammaws daughter, passed away & I went down to the funeral. After I was able to go back and take pictures of the church, which like I said I had really wanted to do for quiet some time. I wasn't sure if I would be able to go back to the church because the church doors have been closed for a few years now & you just never know, so I was very grateful that I was able to take these few pictures.

It is weird because even thought it is so simple it is such a beautiful place to me.

The sign is still in place and still has all the writing still on it.

Mammaw was talented in so many ways and one of them was in music, every Sunday she played the organ. I wish there was video, maybe there is, of her playing because you could see in her eyes that music brought her joy.

At the beginning of every service she played this song Unclouded Day, I found it in the hymnal.

This is also a picture of her chair at her house. Every Christmas she sat in the chair and just watched everyone open their gifts. As you can see in the picture of the two of us together she is sitting in the chair. This picture was actually taking about 5 years ago the first year the chair was empty.

I am so bless to have had this great woman in my life and to have loved and be loved by her.

Video Weekend

This all goes back to when I was in Vegas in March. I was able to go to this amazing convention, WPPI. I heard about it last year from a few of my photographer friends that went to the same photography school as I did.
I really wanted to go this year, I was really needing a pick me up and I wanted to go and hear every speaker & go to as many classes as I could, and that is what I did.
I really needed to be inspired and get excited about what I love to do all over again. Well, here is some of my excitement.
I know it is July, but it is just a processes to do everything I want to do, I started with new business cards & logo. Now on to getting everything ready for the new website, & to this amazing weekend of video!
I had been searching almost since I got back from Vegas for someone to do Video for me, I wanted someone also on fire for their job like I was. I needed someone that wanted this just like I did.
If you don't know me, I like lists, I make list for almost everything, I am extremely organized. I pull out the list of all the weddings I've done go over and over it trying to figure out what Videographers I remember at all of the weddings that I've done in the past and if any of them pop out to me. I also asked a few of my past brides, still not finding exactly what I was wanting. Then I remembered Justin & Sydneys Wedding, which was in 2008. I didn't remember his name but I did remember that he was my age, came up to me and talked to me before I even had the chance to talk to him, so I knew he was outgoing, so I contacted Sydney got his information and the rest is history. Chris did an amazing job & the 3 days of shoot were seriously in the top days of my life, I didn't have to worry about anything. Would highly recommend Chris to anyone.

I can't even tell you how great everything about the weekend went and how much it meant that so many of my past brides and grooms were able to make it. It was a great weekend, very good to get caught up with some of the finest models around, my top models for sure!

Thank you to to each of my clients, each and every one of you had to drive to do this and I appreciate you making time to come be apart of this day for me, it meant a lot.
Thanks Chris for being the awesome videographer that you are and showcasing your talents and making this video the best for me! I can't wait to do more weddings with you because I will for sure be trying to get you as many as I can. Also James thanks for everything you did for Chris and for me to make the video better as well.
Thank you to my Aunt Allison for letting us use your house and your red couch, which I hope you put me down for in the will :) Even though you were out of town it meant a lot for you to let us take over your house for a weekend.
Thank you to my Mom for everything you helped me do to get ready for this weekend, I appreciate it all! The Thank You Cards turned out great.

Congrats to my 2010 Seniors!

I cannot believe that May is already almost over & I am making a blog out of my 2010 Senior Graduates! It seems like I graduated high school yesterday and just a few days ago it has been 5 years!
I am sure your senior year went just as fast for each of you as well. When I was a senior in High School it was one of the most eventful and most memorable times of my life. It was also probably one of the fastest years of my life, one that I thought would never get here but here we are once again for another graduation.

I wanted to give a shout out and congratulations to each of my 2010 Seniors that I had the honor of photographing, each of them brought their own style & each and everyone one of them worked the camera.

Congratulations to each of you, thank you for asking me to be apart of your senior year! Please remember your photographer in your modeling careers ahead :)

Congrats Seniors in all you do in the future, they are all bright!

My Friend Lucas

I am very behind on blogging! My brother pointed out the other day that I wasn't a blogger anymore because I hadn't blogged in such a long time. I do have had a few typed up but I just never went back over them and added pictures to them. SO here I am, Sean you are probably my only reader but I am back to being a blogger :)

First I want to start off with this pictures taken by Jessica Easterwood, she was a bridesmaid at this wedding & I love when I get behind the scenes pictures of me doing what I love! Thanks Jessica for capturing this picture!

On May 22nd, one of my best friends from High School, Lucas, got married to his lovely bride, Kourtney. They were married at a wine vineyard that also had a chapel on the location. I absolutely knew I would love this places as soon as I pulled in.
We were able to take most of the pictures outside until the sun got a little bit to hot, but it worked out so perfectly for pictures, I am so glad they used this location!

It is crazy because Lucas & I haven't been in the same area in quiet awhile but when we see each other it is just like we go back to those best friends we were back when I was in the 7th grade.

I went to high school in a very small town and I was very close to a lot of people, they became some of the best friends I have ever had and some that I still have to this day. Even though Lucas & I don't talk or see each other every day anymore. It was just great to be there, to know that we were best friends and that we are still friends & getting to be apart of their day.

He was the first person that called me when my dad moved to Corn and he had heard all kinds of rumors and knew my parents were probably getting a divorce, he just wanted to make sure I was doing alright. We went to Cancun together. Drove down crazy roads to fast, maybe ran a few stop lights, good ol hot tub days, got pulled over late at night.

Great friendship.

Right now I have been a quiet blogger because I have been trying to do a lot of revamping and changing of different projects for my business. I will make a blog of my huge list next. One of my lists is to write down things about myself. I am making a video about myself for my clients that seek me out will know more about me before meeting me. February came and went.

Time goes so fast. I cannot believe it is March!!
Things have been pretty slow lately. I haven't had a lot of
photo-shoots. I have been trying a lot of different advertising
tactics but nothing is really working right now.

I am going to a Photography Convention in Las Vegas this month
& I am looking for a photography pick-me-up. Hopefully learn some
new ways to catch some business in this economy!

The month started off with my brothers birthday. He turned 21.
I went down to Weatherford, OK, where he lives & goes to school
at SWOSU. We got several of his (&our) friends together for dinner &
then went bowling afterward. It was a good time with friends and it
is always great to celebrate my brother being born! I can't imagine not
having him in my life and I am very grateful for him.

Also while I was in Western, OK I got to see my friends Dacia & Cory and we did a mini photoshoot, I am trying to add new photos to my apt with friends. SO if you are my friend and or family look for a photo-shoot real soon :)

Then the next weekend I went to another part of Oklahoma, where my mom
grew up, close to Lake Texoma area.
My mom planned a surprise 70th birthday party for her mom. She was very
surprised. I set up studio & took several portraits of all of her family that
was around & able to make time to come.

My Aunt Allison & I decided we were going to try to get together once a month and go to a movie or go out to eat. This month we went to see Dear John, which was actually a very good movie, it had lots of twist and turns so it wasn't just the laid out love story like lots of movies like that are.

Also my friends Brittany came up, she had a doctors appointment and then she also went out with me one night to the clubs in OKC that I take pictures at for So6ix magazine. We went to Olive Garden, which was amazing & then also went to see Valentines Day. Also surprisingly a good movie, I figured with that many stars in it there was no way they could tie it all together. We also did Brittanys Bridal portraits while she was up and I got some of my most favorite shots I have ever done! Send a messsage my way I will give you the password, her wedding isnt until next month.

My friend Renee & I have been friends since we were in the 3rd grade, we met at the Bible MB Church in Cordell where we both attended. There aren't any pictures of us together that I am aware of from when we were younger, well we made up for that as adults haha. I got this coupon book for Christmas & there were free sitting fees at Target & JC Penny and such in their photo-studios, so one day we went to Target and had our pictures made together. It was fun to just go randomly have a photo-shoot done together.

GAME NIGHT! My friends Erin, Sheena & Davin all got together at Davin's place and we played spades. I am always okay with playing games but sometimes games arent my favorite thing because I am not that great at them and sometimes people are so hardcore at games and when you don't understand what is going on :-S its just not good lol. WELL, I LOVED spades, Sheena & I were partners and well, we beatttttttttttt Erin & Davin !! It was a great night to get together & enjoy some friend time!

I heard about AMC movie theater showing all the Oscar nominated movies for one price. SO I decided that was something I wanted to do. I think it would be cool to go back and see all the movies that have been nominated since 1986 (the year I was born) I had only seen the Blind Side, so seeing 10 movies sounded like a good time to me. My friend Keith also decided to come.

On the last Saturday of the month they showed the first 5. I saw Avatar, Up, A Serious Man, Precious & District 9. All were decent movies, A Serious Man was kinda weird but not horrible & District 9 was filmed as a documentary, more in the beginning and it just seemed a little slow at the beginning if it would have all been as good as 3/4 of the way through it would have been a really good movie. The next 5 are next Saturday & I will be there to see the rest.

January in Review

Last year I said I would do a blog for each month. Even though I am usually the only one that reads them, for me it is fun to just write it all down.

At the very end of December, Jack, from So6ix Magazine, called me up out of the blue and asked me if I would be interested in photographing the night life of Oklahoma City. I was very excited to take him up on the offer because I was wanting some extra photography work and it was something different and new. Also could lead to more events, projects & jobs because I would get to know more people. That being said my new years was brought in by going from club to club taking pictures of people dancing and wanting to pose for the camera.

On January 3, I did the Cox Convention Center Bridal Fair. This is the 5th time I have had a booth ate one of OkBride bridal fairs. I always have a good experience working with them.
My friend Renee came up to help me and we handed out a lot of information. Looking forward to a busy 2010 filled with many weddings, just not mine :)!

January 6, My moms birthday. My brother wasn't able to come up because he has classes on Wednesday, so I took her out to the Spicy Pickle. If you have never had the pleasure of eating there, well you should definitely try it! It is one of our favorite places to have lunch! They need more than just the one in Edmond!! In the evening Mike, Mom & I went to eat Mexican food to celebrate the best lady I know!

The second weekend in January, I moved to Crown Pointe Apartments. My friend Keith got a job & moved back to Oklahoma City so we decided to save some money and get a two bedroom. Business was very interesting in 2009 with people canceling & not paying that I decided it would be best to do this even though I said I would never have a roommate. I moved in on the coldest weekend of the year I believe, my mom, dad & aunt all helped me get it in the new place.

I went to Coffeyville,KS to visit my grandparents. I was unable to go around Christmas time due to this wonderful snow that seems to keep falling in Oklahoma. I had a lot of fun, I got to hang out with my aunt & uncle some of my favorite people. I was unable to make it up there the day after Christmas to their wedding because I was snowed in. It was fun to spend the weekend with them. I wish they were my neighbors.

The last day of the month was my friend Angela's birthday & my little friends Taylor & Renee birthdays.

I was able to go by and visit Taylor & Renee for their birthdays & then go to Angelas birthday party.
It is so great to spend time with friends. The older I get the less time that seems to happen & I just need to make more time.

I think it was when one of my friends brothers passed away a little over a year ago and she had written a 'poem' about him and it was just amazing to me because i am really close to my brother too and i cant imagine having siblings that arent. i wish she would post what she wrote because i would share it!

o dear. 5 or 6 i can only remember 5 right now. i was pulled over for the first time in okc a little over 6 months ago and i have lived here for almost 5 years.

well. i am happy now but i set my alarm before i went to bed and then when i couldnt sleep i never reset it soo i wasnt happy with it going off lol

I opened my devotion tonight, sadly it was because I couldn't sleep but I am glad I couldn't because it was exactly what I was needing to read..
It is from the devotion by Joel Osteen, Become A Better You. I would type out the full devotion because it was all very good words but I will just type a few things. I highly recommend his devotions, straight and to the point.

It starts off with,

Hebrews 13:5 GOD HAS SAID, ''I WILL NEVER FAIL YOU. I WILL NEVER ABANDON YOU.''

Then goes into the reading..

09 in Review

I have met so many fantastic people this year through my job. I have photographed 14 wedding, many engagements, family's & other events.

It comes and goes faster and faster each year. This year has been interesting I guess would be the word, fun & exciting in one way or another.

On the other side I have encountered some not so amazing issues with people not paying and canceling last minute for weddings and other events this year. A lot of it has to do with the economy. Even though it has effected me badly financially it has also helped me for the future to change up my contracts and make sure I am more set for events and possible problems in the future.

My year started out at my friends Brad and Jaye's house celebrating New Years

Also bring in the new year I received a message from someone I have known for 14 years this year, Madison. Madison & her longtime boyfriend at the time, Austin were engaged. On September 12th they were married on the rainiest day of the year at Quartz Mountain Resort.

On January 3, I had the privilege of shooting my friends Brian & Wendy's Wedding. My first wedding of 2009! Wendy did a great job planning and I was able to get some fun, new photos. It was a great weekend to get caught up with friends & be able to be apart of their wedding day!

Nebraska Adventure, my friend JT & new friend Becky (Mr. & Mrs. Zahradnik) were married on March 14. I made the drive up there with my dad, Shari & Sara. I was very glad I was able to go. Great time spending time with friends and making time to be there for people you care about, that’s what its all about for sure. It was a great trip & came back with my brother & Reid.

My most exciting news of the year came to me in March I received an e-mail from my cousin that lives in New York City, I saw them last year at our other cousins wedding and they asked me to come to NYC to photography a Bat Mitzvah! Which most of you that know know this was like my dream. I went the first week in June. Well, the dream came true and above and beyond! I have never had more fun in my life! Every second of being there was like being in a dream. I was there 9 days and I did it all. Regis & Kelly Show, I was able to shake Kelly Ripa's hand!

The View, I won a years supply of Downy & was able to take a picture with Sherri Shepherd.

I went to the David Letterman Show & the hottest woman in the world Sandra Bullock was on the show, two Broadway shows, tours. Taxis, Buses, Trains. I did it all. I wore that city out. I walked everywhere during the day, I wanted to see every single building.

This may sound so corny but it was for sure my happy place.
The Bat Mitzvah was also so amazing to photograph. It was a very cool event to be apart of and it was off of the beach.

My cousins house was also very close to the beach and it was amazing. I love the beach. One day my cousins, Lori & Stacey, took me out on their boat, the most relaxing and beautiful experience. I am so grateful to them for allow me to stay with them & taking me and picking me up from the train each day, I had some late nights with going to shows and they were always there to pick me up!

August,
August was a big month for me. After I came back from New York City in June it was like the economy caught up in Oklahoma. I had so many weddings canceled. I had over 20 weddings booked before I had left and thus you see I only shot 15 this year. It was like all of a sudden people were canceling, not paying, etc. Several canceled last minute and it put me in a really tight spot, a few did cancel their wedding but a few were just having 'a family friend' photograph to save money. At the end of August it caught up to me and I decided to cancel my lease at my apartment I had lived at for 3 1/2 years and move in with my Mom & Mike. It was really hard for me, mainly 'embarrassing' because I had lived on my own for 4 1/2 years pushing forward in my business but it was something that I knew I had to do before I was to deep in. It does still aggravate me some that this happened and people canceled not even thinking I had told other people no but in the long hall it has put me in a better place now and have now set my business up a little better for bigger and better things in the future. Also a big thanks to my friend Karlyn for helping me get my contract set in stone so I do not get put in that position again.
Thanks also to my Mom & Mike for letting me be 'in the way' for a few months so I could make sure I got back on my feet.
Most people, to my knowledge, didn't know I had move I kinda tried to keep it on the down low exception of a few friend and family that helped me move & a few family members who decided to tell others haha. Even though I realize with all the other awful things that are happening to other people, this is very minimal, it has helped me grow as a person and as a photography business.

I also have realize this year that I LOVE live music. I went to several concerts through the year.

Only 1 of them did I get to sneak my professional camera in but for some reason being at a concert is an awesome rush. I for sure will be going to a lot more concerts in the future.

My friends Ryan & Daniella got married in August at one of my favorite venues I have ever photographed a wedding at! The Farmers Market, Downtown OKC. It was beautiful and it was so great to me around friends and go to all their wedding events!

My friend Keith, actually moved back to Western OK to get his masters but PRAISE THE LORD, got a job back in Oklahoma City & will be moving back after the first of the year! He was also in a play in Clinton, OK and I went to see him in the play. He did an awesome job. He had about 15-20 minutes maybe more in the play by himself and when it was over I said Keith, lets move to New York and you be on Broadway.

My friend Renee finished her student teaching for Special Education & interviewed for a few jobs and received one of the first ones she interviewed for in Yukon as a Special Ed Teacher!

My friend Brittany, got engaged to Brandon. They are getting married next year!

My friend Lucas, got engaged to Kourtney. I finally got to meet Kourtney when I did their engagement pictures and can't wait to photography their wedding in 2011.

My friends Mandrae & Karissa had her baby, Anissa Beth Collins. She is adorable. I hope to meet her soon.

My friend Zach, He graduated from HS in May at Washita Heights and it was really awesome to see him watch across the stage. When I was a senior in HS he was in a class I taught. I also was able to take his senior pictures. He is a great person and great friend.

Last year my friends Zak & Katrina had their baby girl Parker Grace, she turned 1 in November and I finally got to meet her in September. She is so cute and I love her so much I wish they lived next door so could see her grown up everyday!

This year I also was able to make some new friends with some of my clients I have had. It is always great to make new friends & they have become some of the best!

Friendship isn't always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning. Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.

Friends are special people. We for sure can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. 74. What's the scariest thing you've ever done? well starting my own business was a pretty big leap of faith for me. umm when i get on roller coasters on the end-side i am dying but i have trained myself to just keep breathing on the outside. lol

3. i did so many scrapbooks that i now haaate making them i don't even like to watch someone make one see someone make one. now the finished product i love but making them never again, so dont ever ask!

The Blind Side

I went this afternoon with my family to see this movie. I highly recommend it! It was very good acting, hilarious & a great story line. I also loved that it was a true story. I am a big fan of Sandra Bullock as well, I actually got to see her when I was in New York in the audience at David Letterman. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Love it!

christmas around the corner

This year has had so many ups and downs but let me tell you I love my life. I cannot believe that I am able to take pictures for a living not just for as a hobby.
This year I have had so many families & kids coming for Christmas portraits which has been great. I have started these portrait parties which allows a host to allow me to set up at their house or find a location and families, kids, couples all come and I do all the families in one day 30 minute sessions for a low price of $30 sitting fee.
Last weekend I went to Enid Oklahoma to the Green household. Brandi, who is amazing for getting 9 families together for me to photograph on Saturday. These are Casey & Brandi's children Aubree & Boston. I just wanted to say thank you to them for putting so much effort into the portrait party & allowing me to photograph their beautiful family!

One Year ago today, Katrina, one of my best friends texted me and told me her wonderful daughter was born Parker Grace!!!!!!!!
A few months ago I was able to meet her for the first time & I wish we were next door neighbors because she is the cutest and coolest kid in town!!

Okay, so today I had a huge portrait party in Enid, OK. One of the families I have taken several pictures of from engagement, wedding, family, is the Thompson family (Brittney). Her sister Brandi has also been at a lot of these events and decided to throw a portrait party, which when someone hosts a 'get together' and families couples kids come and can get their pictures taken at a location for a cheaper price. It was a great day and 9 families came & tons of portraits were taken. I also was able to get some Christmas props. I try to keep pictures simple but classy, I don't really like corny backgrounds or weird props that kids would never use anyway. I just looked 3077 pictures were taken, I am sure that will be limited down but it was a great day for pictures.

My real story which I am sure you are bored and don't even make it to this point. I went to wal-mart this morning because I had this idea for these pictures to get boxes to wrap like presents so I could put kids or babies in so it looked like they were in a present for Christmas.
I went to the check out line and the lady said to me
'so are you sending a lot of gifts today'
I responded 'no I am actually a photographer and I have some portraits here today & these are a few of my props'
she responded to me again 'oh, where do you photography at here in town' (which I am Enid, OK remember.)
I again respond, 'I actually am from Oklahoma City but I have several clients this direction and just set up in peoples home for portraits.'
She then said, 'oh people don't usually make house calls anymore'

WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT? I was like ummmmmmmm ok, thanks? haha I mean I am not a doctor! lol

SECOND STORY..

A few months ago I decided to get another cell phone for my business mainly because I have had a 580 since I was 18 & was originally from western ok. I have had my buisness for about 5 years now so a lot of my clients and cards are out there with my 580 number, so I went ahead and just added a line because it was about the same price to share the minutes and that way I could have a 405 number as well & not have to worry about shutting off my other line.
WELL, since I have had my new number I get so many wrong numbers. I always call people back even they dont leave a message mainly because it could be a potential client. WELL TODAY, I called back a number that had called me,
the girl answered and I said this is Jared Wanzer, I am a photographer in Oklahoma City and I had a missed call from you,
she said, 'you have the wrong number'
Which after that in my mind I am thinking um are you kidding me you crazy girl you called me but instead I said, 'um no i don't think i have the wrong number i just responded to the number the had called me earlier today'
She then gave some excuse her sister must have used her phone earlier today.
I decided after that anytime I get a wrong number I am adding them to my phone as WRONG NUMBER & so then if they call I see it is a wrong number and will answer and say 'wrong number' and hang up :)

I have been pretty busy lately which I am very grateful for! I am trying to stay caught up and give my clients faster turn around so they will have plenty of time before Christmas to get all the pictures ordered they would like for Christmas. The Hansen Family, they are my neighbors here in Edmond, OK. Kate & Clay are the kids names. They are the cutest little kids and always see them playing in their backyard. The Javorsky Family is my favorite families. I have been photographing them since before I was in photography school. They are just like family. My mom and Racquel are best friends.
Taylor & Renee have turned into my little models. This is like their 10th photo-shoot and each time they love it even more. Racquel said to me 'they know how to pose because they grew up with a photographer that is like family.' Which is one of the nicest thing anyone as said to me.
This is Kasons First photoshoot, the new addition to the Javorsky clan. He is cute as could be and he had the best facial expressions ever.

This time of year I always love, not only is it holiday time but I get to take pictures of all the families, kids, sometimes pets :) for people to give their families for Christmas gifts. Spread the word :) taking them early is always best.

First, this is Brandon, Brittany & Brandon's daughter Bailey. Brittany and I have been friends since I was in the 3rd grade. She is always fun to be around, she is one of the funniest people I have ever met. Actually, a few days after this, Brandon & Brittany got engaged!! I am very happy for them and can't wait for them to set a date!! It was misting a little bit during these pictures but we were determined to get them taken before it started pooring because it had been raining in Oklahoma City for like 14 days.

Kaitlyn is a senior in HS this year and is actually graduating in December. Early this year I photographed her sister & fiance (Annie & Derrick) Kaitlyn was for sure a JWP Top model she worked the camera, at the end of the photo-shoot she said 'I brought all these clothes but I never guessed we would use them all'

I made a trip to my home town Cordell for a weekend and had a few photo-shoots set up. Chris actually works for my dad at Bessie Co-op. We found some new places in Cordell & I really loved working with them. Blaine was hilarious, he was always wanting to climb a tree and put on some good poses. Great family & great day for pictures.

Bellow, this is Danny & Kristy's Wedding. This was I believe the 4th wedding I have done at Creekside Wedding Chapel. I love this location because it is fairly close to where I live. I love traveling but sometimes it is nice to have one close to home. They have just redone a lot of the chapel and it looks great, I am hoping to get a lot more there because they have a lot to work with. Danny & Kristy have turned into two of my favorite people. I made the roll in the ground on their engagement pictures (I will have to show that one later). Basically I love people that do whatever I say haha and they worked it for sure. Here are a few samples.

My 50th wedding. I photographed my first wedding in 2005. On 10/03/09 I photographed my 50th wedding! Time goes by really fast. This was a great wedding to be my 50th because it had an amazing stained glass cross in the front of the church that I loved and had some amazing lighting come through. Here are a few samples...whoohoo for 50 more!

Dan & Trista, I drove to Wichita where they live to photograph their engagement pictures. I actually have known Trista for quiet a while because she used to date one of my friends, who is now married to so we will just let everyone wonder who it was. She of course remember my awesome photography ability and contacted me on facebook. haha It actually misted or drizzled on us almost the whole time we were taking pictures but we actually were able to get some amazing shots.

Bridal Fairs

I decided to do another bridal fair, in January. It is the best one in OKC I think because it is at the Cox Convention Center.
I am trying to think of a new idea to draw brides my direction. Alot of brides come and don't realize how big of an event this is. There are so many vendors & so much information that it can be overwhelming for a bride. Basically you only have a few minutes to talk to them because after they have been to just a few booths they want to get in and out and sign up for free stuff and move to the next booth. I need something extra something that pops to draw those brides that you only get a few minutes with so when they get home and open their bag full of information they notice JWP. Any ideas anyone? Let me know :)

The other day my Dad called me to meet him and Shari in Yukon for lunch, I said okay where are we eating, we will meet you at Santa Fe Steak house. It takes me about 40 minutes to get to Yukon so I said okay I will be there in a few.
I drive up to Santa Fe and I notice when I pull into the parking lot that it doesn't look like anyone is there and that it is possibly closed but I had txted my dad and he said 'come on in we are inside.'
SO THEN in my head I am thinking hmm I wonder what they are driving. SO I get out of the car and walk up to the restaurant and it says CLOSED DO NOT ENTER NO LONGER IN BUSINESS.
SO THEN I call my dad, Dad where are you, we are inside, I said are you in YUKON? He said yes Santa fe in Yukon, Dad I am at Santa Fe and it says on the door it is closed. He then looks out the window of CHILIS which is next door and says ohhh umm we are in Chilis hahahaha He didn't even realize they went into Chilis

Above are some family portraits I did last weekend. I started off taking pictures of Kira because the family was all meeting at Logan & Alis house. We took quiet a few of Kira by herself and when I was almost done taking pictures of her she says to me, 'I think I want to take a few pictures with my family.' Which totally cracked me up because she thought we were just taking pictures of her, I guess that shows how many pictures I take.
I actually photographed Logan & Alis wedding at the beginning of this year, which is crazy because this year has just gone by. They have an amazing backyard and I always love when they call to have me photograph them because I get an amazing background in their backyard. These are just the couple collages I put together. Thanks so much for always coming back to me! I always enjoy getting to know my clients more and more.

Above is the The Thompson family. I am sure you remember them because I have photographed them a few times. I am so grateful for them. Brittney spreads my name around all the time and I am always getting new clients from her! Also little Haylie is one of my favorite people. She is HILARIOUS. I had so many pictures at once I never got the photoshoot above put on my blog. The Newton family was great. This is a beautiful Grandma with all her grandchildren. I thought it was so awesome to see them all together, she was so proud to have everywhere there as well. It was actually a surprise for her birthday so she didn't even realize everyone was going to be there.

I think Taylor is my first guy to photograph for senior portraits this year. He is a brother of one of my good friends and I cannot believe he is a senior. Taylor worked that camera, he always made up his own poses. I told him at one point, I like that you don't do what I say but I like the new poses you come up with haha.
We were able to get some awesome portraits. It was a perfect day outside and we got into the locker room at his high school to take a few as well.

A few weekends ago I went to Coffeyville, KS where some of my family lives. Sydney is a family friend, she calls me her Uncle in her phone. First of all Sydney is an amazing photographer she does some of the coolest artsy things & nature portraits. One of my favorite pictures was one of the last ones we did with some of her photography and camera around her. She was an amazing model and had a ton of changes of clothes to choose from and we actually ended up shooting part of Friday & part of Saturday so we could get it all in. Thanks Syndey for working that camera and for asking me to come up and photograph your Senior pictures.

Every year is so different some years I have quiet a few Senior Potraits some years I have tons of couples some years I have more families than others, this year there have been a lot of Seniors & family portraits. I had met Ashley a few times prior to taking her senior picture because my Aunt Allison goes to church at First Baptist Church in Moore & Ashley also goes there. We worked so many locations and were able to make day of it! Ashley is stylin and was so great to work with, she did whatever I said and that is always fun!

I am trying to update all my material for my Photography business, I always do this every once in awhile anyway but I finally added a line to my phone so I would have a local 405 number as well, so I wouldn't always get asked...Where are you from?
Hopefully this will also help more brides to give me a call as well knowing that I am local. Not to say I don't want out of state weddings :) or a few beach weddings or two & if anyone could get me a wedding in Central Park you can call whatever phone number you want as long as you get a hold of me :)

Senior Photo-shoot

I love my job. I love going out and exploring and finding new locations and getting the right lighting, different lighting. Basically I am always up for anything new and exciting.
Well, I had the privilege of photographing these two Senior 2010 girls, Courtney & Berlynn. They were referred to me by my Aunt who lives in Moore.
To start off I wanted to see if we could find a rail road track. I have done some pictures at a rail road before but never in OKC usually it is in a small town area. We had to go up around under and we finally made it to this part of the rail road I wanted to go to. I don't really get scared to try and new place because basically after doing this for awhile you just get the mind set if someone doesn't want you to be taking pictures in a certain location all they are going to do is ask you to leave & by that point I will hopefully have the right shot.

Well, after all the rambling, my point. The three of us had so many stickers all over us by the time we got back to the car to change into the next outfit.
Of course I had to photograph it to share with you all.

It took awhile to get them all out.

The finished product though of these JWP Top Models was totally worth it though!!

This is the first time I have ever been able to do a maternity photo-shoot. I was able to go to one of my best friends baby showers, Karissa & Mandrae, who I haven't seen in forever. I always make my friends take pictures they don't want to but usually they like them later :)
Karissa is so beautiful and so no matter how I posed her she would look great. I was so glad I was able to go to Hutchinson!! I cannot wait to meet Anissa!!

Stromboli Heaven

I LOVE Stromboli.
A week or so ago I took senior pictures of Taylor, one of my good friends brothers, Wendy.
Their Mom, Connie is one of THE nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. She would do anything for anyone. She can also make the best wedding cake ever, I always tell her quit your job and start making wedding cakes!
She calls me a few days before Taylors pictures and says 'well I was thinking of making lunch if you would want to stay, I am planning to make stromboli.'
WELL, most of you know me know that I don't say no to much food, unless it's green.
IT WAS THE BEST STROMBOLI I HAVE EVER HAD!

Basically I need to learn how to make it ASAP!

Okay so I haven't been as good at making blogs about the photo shoots I have been doing lately because things have been crazy. I decided to make one blog just with a sample of all the pictures I have done lately.

Above is my JWP Top Model Brook, she and her now husband have also become two of my very good friends. She knows how to work the camera and not only does what I have in mind but she works it and as you can see she pulls it off for sure!!

Above is Ryan, he is a senior 2010, which is weird to write I kept writing 2009 on the pictures. I have known Ryan since I was in the 3rd grade, he is the brother of one of my friends Madison. I told him to bring a lot of changes and we found all kinds of locations to use and got some amazing shots.

I did some family portraits of these beautiful kids familys but this picture was just one of my favs, they look like they were taken off of a magazine. Some of the cutest kids ever. They all work the camera already at a young age, looking forward to many more photoshoots with these little ones!

My friends Daniella and Ryan who are now also JWP Top Models had their wedding awhile back and it was at an amazing location at the Farmers Market downtown OKC. I LOVE that place I want to do many more weddings down there. It was an amazing wedding.

Bread Bread Bread

First off let me start off this blog by saying I am farely picky I dont like a lot of green things I usually like to stick to basically the same type of food just because I know it is good and when I am hungry I just want to eat something that will get me full.
BUT I could eat any type of bread, give me good bread and I will eat it!
Well, the other day my mom asked me start the bread because we were going to have dinner & I said no problem, I have her old bread maker so I was thinking this will be easy didn't even think anything of it.
I go back to editing and all of a sudden I was like hm something is smelling weird the only thing cooking is the bread so I went back in the kitchen THE BREAD WAS BURNING. In that moment for the first time in my life, I did not get a picture of this step. I cleaned out the bread maker and started over.
Go back to my editing all of a sudden I hear this LOUD sound! SO I get back up go back and look around... This is what I find.

The bread & the bread maker on the kitchen floor. I was like you have to be kidding me. So for ME to make bread there are a lot more steps to make it turn out than just putting it together.

Finally it did turn out. :)

I met Dustin & Hollie about a year ago at their friends wedding. I remember at the reception of Kyle & Stephanie's wedding telling, Dustin & Hollie that they were wayyyy to steamy for the camera. Treadmill 101

Almost every morning I get up and go get on the treadmill, my friend Keith has a gym in his apt so we both walk/jog.
Yesterday, as usually it was HOTTTT, Keith asked me is the air blowing out of the vent, as I reached up to see if the air was blowing, I was walking on the treadmill, talking to Keith, TXTing & reaching up to check this air vent.
All of a sudden I take my next step and one foot sets off the treadmill and I luckly grabbed the handle bars before it threw me out the windows behind us.

SO To all of you treadmill walkers out there

Power Outtage

Last night I was up for some late night editing, story of my life right now. I went to bed about 1 AM. I was pretty tired so I went to sleep pretty quickly and all of a sudden my power went out. I probably wouldn't have noticed but my fan stopped & my apartment has a security system and anytime the power goes off it beeps.
WELL jump ahead the power was off all night until about 7AM. The alarm beeps until you come turn it off so I got up and turned it off my fan starts blowing and for some reason MY PRINTER starts printing random stuff?? It cracked me up I was like what the heck is going on.
I am thinking my power goes off way to often & now its starting to waste my printer paper, not good not good at all :)

SO I have been back from New York City for about 16 days. I had 9 days of not editing whatsoever while I was away. Back to the grind, a grind which I love but it has been a little crazy playing catch up because I had quiet a few clients the week before I left and came back to more, which is an amazing problem to have!
I appreciate all my clients being patient and realizing it does take time to edit.
I finished editing a wedding today & decided to take a picture of my computer of all the files that have all the clients I still have to edit. I thought I would share :)

The Ivey Family is hilarious, I love hanging out with them and probably could take pictures of them all day. This is the second time I have photographed their family all together. We originally met at a wedding of one of their family members.
This time we met at their house in Newcastle & their back yard was amazing! We also did the shoot in the evening as the sun was setting so the lighting was perfect!

Esmé is the daughter of some friends from back home, Western Oklahoma area, Randy & Amiee. Their family was actually one of the first photo shoots I did when I was in Photography school.

First off let me just saw how much I appreciate my clients, I get to know most of them fairly well because I spend a lot of time taking pictures of them and talking to them of course. The greatest way to receive a wedding is a client referring a friend to me & I am very grateful for all who do.
I met Ashley @ at wedding she was a bridesmaid in about a year ago, Tod & Tara, when she got engaged she messaged me on facebook.
I was also able to go to their engagement party to photography the event and meet their friends and family which was also an awesome experience because a lot of times that event doesn't get photographed so it was fun to take pictures of everyone just having fun.
I don't think Les is a huge fan of pictures he was telling me it wasn't one of his favorite things to do but they both for sure love each other because you can tell in all the pictures I was able to take of them. We captured some awesome shots & they are for sure JWP top models.
I am sure Les would never admit it but I think he secretly did like taking pictures haha. Thanks Ashley for giving me a call and looking forward to more pictures to come!

My First Taxi ride in NYC was when I got into NYC from the train station I needed to get to the location that Regis and Kelly is filmed so I would be there in plenty of time so I went ahead and took a cab. I was so excited anyway so I am talking to people and the taxi driver asked me where I was from, I responded of course with Oklahoma City. He then proceeded to ask me 'oh is that close to LA, California.' I had to control myself from busting out laughing because in Oklahoma Geography we were taught where LA was & were New York City was. HAHA I am cracking up just typing this. I told him it was in the center of the country and then he was like oh ok yea never heard of that. :|

I Love New York City!

I was in New York City for 9 Days, June 1-9! My third cousin CJ was having a Bat Mitzvah & they asked if I would come and photograph the event. I of course said DUH & turned it into an amazing vacation!
First let me say that I have never had so much fun in my life, since I have been back all I can think about is being in New York City & how much I absolutely loved it! I am sure you will hear stories for years to come but I will write a blog ever now and again about things that happened while I was there. The second day that I was in New York but the first Day I went into NYC, I applied for tickets to Regis & Kelly. I have watched the show for about 10 years & it was very cool to go and see it Live!
Regis actually was on vacation, which he usually is even though it is called Regis and Kelly :) but I still was so excited and I am sure I never stopped laughing and smiling! Pat Sajak was the guest co-host. Kyra Sedgwick was one of the guest on the show. The whole time I was so happy to be there and I met an awesome couple in the audience. At the very end of the show, which it did make TV, I can't find it on You Tube but it is on my DVR SO SOMETIME I will get it on here, but Kelly Ripa came into the audience and I got to shake her hand. In my mind, she whispered I love you :) No, I was just so excited and it was one of my friends, now I just need to be a guest on the show.
Every commercial Kelly Ripa came out & talked to the audience and people were able to ask questions. I snapped a few shots & here are a couple.

this is a really bad picture, but i took this off my tv, hopefully i can figure out how to burn it from my dvr and get a better image but you can tell this is me shaking Kelly Ripas hand.

Here is another JWP Top Model. Ali made such a beautiful bride! We met a few weeks before and did a bridal portrait session. We met at the original location of the Oklahoma State Capitol in Guthrie. It made for some great shots but afterward we went outside and just did a few and wow am I glad we did.

First off let me say that Tyler & Brook are Top Models. The camera loves them!!
Brook received my name and from my friend Wendy, they went to Duncan Brothers Hair School together. When Wendy told me about her I saw their pics on facebook & knew that I wanted their wedding. Brook came to a bridal fair I did at the Cox Convention Center & booked their wedding!
We had so much fun, we went all over Bricktown, will rogers park, Hefner. I am so glad I was introduced to them! They are two awesome people and I am glad to have them as friends now & looking forward to all the pictures to come :)

Oh, I wanted to tell the story how they met because I thought it was cool. They both went to different High Schools and they were at a basketball game, Brook sat on the opposing teams side and her friends dared her to go put her arm around Tyler. The rest is history.

Friends are special people. We for sure can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. One of my first assignments in photography school.

January 2009 over, time goes by so quickly! I brought in the New Year with some of my great friends. We just decided to keep it low key; hang out, watch movies & play games.

Also bring in the new year I received an exciting new from my best
friend of 14 years this year, Madison. Madison informed with her
exciting news that her & longtime boyfriend, Austin were engaged!
We have been talking through the month & she has been doing planning
& organizing. After a lot of tracking down they have nailed down a
date. I am very excited to shoot a longtime friends wedding in
September & can't wait to be a part of their special day!

On January 3, I had the privilege of shooting my friends Brian & Wendy's
Wedding. Wendy did a great job planning and I was able to get some fun,
new photos. (Check out my blog for a variety) It was a great weekend to get caught up with friends & be able to be apart of their wedding day!

At the beginning of this eventful month, I participated in the OKC Bridal Fair at the Cox Convention Center. This was the 4th bridal fair that I have been apart of
and this was my favorite. The venue provided much more space & room
for brides to move around, which allowed me to hand out a lot more information
& meet a lot of new potential clients. I am also very grateful for my lovely assistant for being there all day &helping me get my name out.

January was a organization
month for me; getting caught up on editing (if you can get caught up on editing),
post cards made for the year of holidays and different events. Budget set & all my tax information
is together & ready to go. As well
as organizing this month, engagement portraits, church portraits & meetings
to set dates for clients weddings.

Christmas reschedule. I try to always
make time to get together with friends during Christmas time & have a
‘Christmas’ together. My Christmas with
Jeremy & Rene..e had to be rescheduled because of the weather & this
month we made up for that & went out for dinner & went to see Mall Cop. We enjoyed spending time together & just
had a great day together.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY this month to some Special People!

January 4 My Mammaw would have been 90 years old.
January 6 My wonderful Mom, my friend Jaye & lil Renee.
I went out to My moms in the AM & brought her Dough Nuts.
Later, Sean, Mike & I took MA to BJs & then went to see the
new version of Old Yeller, Marly & Me. It was great to celebrate.

Angela also on the last day of the month was able to get a bunch of friends together and eat in Yukon for her birthday. It was a great time to enjoy some time together & celebrate Angela's Birthday!

It is hard to believe but January 2009 down. Looking forward to each month to follow.

I went up to Coffeyville KS, thought I was going to have a few clients, but ended up having just Brinly & Kean (with their grandma & mom) & it was worth it! They are the cutest two kids, I am pretty sure they are going to be models with the grow up.
They have a place called the Brown Manchine in Coffeyville & it is where we went.

At the end of June I headed to Denver CO. I decided to make it a vacation/wedding week. Michele is my cousin & when she asked me if I would be able to do her wedding I was so excited, I told her I think I am even more excited than you.
The wedding events started the night before and there was a big 'welcome dinner'. Since out of the 70 or so people that were in attendance at the wedding, 10 of them were from Colorado. How amazing is that, that that many people took the time and were able to make it to this amazing event.
I had so much fun, I just couldn't stop taking pictures and still wish I would have taken more! Here are a few of the amazing day. One of the best weeks of my life!!

Yesterday I did Pamelas Wedding and now can show a few of your bridal Portraits. First off, we went to the Sate Captiol. Which was exceptionally different & exciting this time because Pams mom does some work at the capitol and knew the ins and outs and we were go to some new places that I had never been.
